The other weekend I was lucky enough to get down to Moeraki in North Otago (in The other weekend I was lucky enough to get down sunny NZ) with my fellow photographers from Rangiora Photographic Society.
Well it's been a great day hanging out with the family, watching my little one at her swim class and just generally chilling out. Then of course tonight we have the Wellington Rugby Sevens on TV in the background and me at the PC editing some images with Photoshop & NIK Software which it turning into my image tuner of choice at the moment.
So I've been up in Auckland all week and was starting to thing, no way I'm actually going to get an image this week for the project, but then today came. Sun - 31 deg heat and of course a Sunday.
With starting Project 52 a week behind I thought I'd try and get 2 images out this week to catch up then I'm on track and feeling happy with myself, which at the end of the day is part of the point.
A few years ago my better half and I popped over to the Gold Coast in Aussie visited Australia Zoo, owned by the late Steve Irwin and his family.
The other week I had a great day out and spent some time with the family in Christchurch City Centre now that it's opened again, it's been a few years since we have has so much access to our city after the quakes that tried to take the heart from the city.
Naming images is am interesting thing, when you get into photography you think about the camera, the lens, the light, the subject and then after a while you start thinking, what am I trying to say with the image, actually one of the interesting things that happens at some point is you stop talking about taking photo's and start talking about making images. That may be a conscious thing or an unconscious thing, in my case it was the result of a really good talking to I got from a fellow photographer.
I haven't really been that interested in portrait photography, in truth I've never really felt that i could do it justice, it's a hard hard thing to get right, I think anyway.
