My Blog

Welcome to the blog, my place of reflection, of thoughts, well actually at times of rambles and musings really. I've done a blog off and on for a number of years but it's always been separate from my main site until now. Finally I get to fully integrate everything in one place and it's really quite exciting. I make no promises of revelations or incredible insight, no certainty that things will make sense or even be spelled correctly for that matter. I can guarantee that they are all my own thoughts (as far as I'm aware) and I will do my best to not besmirch anyone (well not too much) and not to just blog for no apparent reason other than of course i want to get something off my chest or it amuses me.... it may even from time to time amuse you, hey and if it does you can comment on the site and / or on facebook or any number of places... go one, you know you want to read more....

It's been a while coming...

It's taken a while and a couple of false starts on the new site in terms of the blog system I was wanting to use, I didn't want much really. A simple interface, the ability to blog remotely and get on the site what i was seeing in say live writer and I also wanted it to integrate into facebook & maybe twitter. To be honest twitter was a back door into posting on to facebook really as I had an app that worked with twitter but not Fb but all is sorted now. I found a fantastic program called easy blogger and it's pretty much out of the box stuff with everything I needed including reporting and I have to say the few hickups i did have were sorted by the guys in support there pretty much the next day. Sometimes being on the other side of the world actually helps... they worked on things while I slept, i tested while they slept... reminded me of being back in my 1st job and doing electronics 24 hrs a day handing over from Scotland to the US to India and back, was cool. Anyhoo, I digress as they say, now that it's all working lovely you should expect a lot more prattling on from me, some more images on the site as well now that my back is feeling pretty good, don't worry I'll catch you up on that! So not much else to do but hit publish and go have some breakie to ponder the next steps.... stay tuned!

Well it’s starting to become a yearly tradition, a new web host and a new website.  This one is pretty neat I think, well I could be a little biased I guess. It’s linked directly to facebook in a number of ways, you can ‘like it’ if you feel like it, you can look at the image sin the galleries and share them on facebook to tell your mate you like them (which will link back here) you can comment on the images, if your polite, you can comment on the blogs in all manner of ways and share them in any number of social sites.

Why i hear you ask have I done such wild and crazy things?… well… why not and besides, the more you interact the more you’ll visit and others may visit and so on.

The front page is similar to the last version except it’s automatically updated when I post a new image discussion which will make it easier on me at least. It also posts automatically to facebook for me so if you sign up to my page on facebook it’ll come up on your threads (apparently)

So there you go… my new interactive site… come on in and erm… interact!

Cheers

Well, I don't know if I should be annoyed, mildly miffed, slightly confused on a little flattered that someone took the time to HACK my main site!.. (Living In NZ) I think it's going to have to be FECKING ANNOYED! why do people do that?.. just to prove they can or just for the hell of it. I can sometimes understand the challenge of Big sites, Microsoft or IBM or the like but my little site.. come on, give me a break.

Anyway I have to compliment my web hosting company (InMotion Hosting) I flicked them an email to say HELP!!! and only 10 mins later I had an email back telling me what had happened and that they had fixed it!... talk about service, these guys are seriously helpful and seriously great. So a Big Thank you to InMotion for getting me back up & running in no time!
